Hyaluronic Fillers

What are Hyaluronic Fillers?

Hyaluronic fillers (such as Restylane®, Perlane®, Juvederm® Ultra, & Juvederm® Ultra Plus) consist of a natural substance that already exists in the human body called Hyaluronic Acid.  It can be used to fill fine lines and moderate to severe wrinkles while restoring fullness to your face.

Does it correct all of my wrinkles?

Depending on the site injected and the amount of product used, you may have an 80 to 100% improvement in the appearance of the injected lines and wrinkles.

How long does it last?

Since everyone's body metabolizes substances differently, results may be visible for six to nine (6-9) months.

Does it go away completely?

Yes, if you stop getting the injections the material is degraded by the body, leaving no traces of the dermal filler in the body.

Is there any pre-treatment required?

Avoid any products containing aspirin, Ibuprofen, St. John's Wort or high doses of Vitamin E for one (1) week prior to treatment to help decrease bruising and bleeding at the injection site.

Is there any post-treatment required?

You will need to leave the area alone for six (6) hours after treatment and refrain from aerobic exercise for a few days. There might be redness, swelling and minor bruising at the injection sites.  Post-treatment application of ice is advised.

Does it hurt?

There is some discomfort, but a topical or local anesthetic is available if needed.  Restylane®-L, Perlane®-L, Juvederm® Ultra XC, & Juvederm® Ultra Plus XC are now available, providing an infusion of lidocaine in each syringe, significantly decreasing treatment discomfort!

Botox®

What is BOTOX®?

A natural purified protein produced by Clostridium botulinum bacterium.

Is it dangerous?

No. It is a purified form of the protein and is injected in very small amounts so there is virtually no risk.

How does it work?

It is injected into certain muscles to temporarily relax them. This prevents movement and assists wrinkle reduction. It is the repeated movement of muscles that causes wrinkles so, by preventing the movement, it helps reduce or soften wrinkles.

Is there any pre-treatment?

Avoid taking any medications with aspirin, ibuprofen and/or Vitamin E for one (1) week prior to treatment. This will decrease the bruising at the injection site.

Is there any post-treatment?

Temporary ice application may be advised. Do not massage or rub the treated area(s) for one to two weeks after injection. Vigerous exercise is also NOT recommended for a few days after treatment.

Laser Hair Removal

Is it permanent?

It is permanent hair reduction. Every person is different, therefore we can't promise complete hair removal but most experience 50-90% permanent hair reduction. Maintenance sessions may be necessary in some cases.

Is there any pre-treatment?

You cannot pluck, wax, use a depilatory or have electrolysis in the areas you want to treat for six (6) weeks prior to laser hair removal. Do not tan the areas for four (4) weeks prior to treatment. Avoid using self-tanning products for two (2) weeks prior to treatment.

What post-treatment is necessary?

You will need to wear sunscreen regularly during your laser treatment package and for six (6) weeks after completing your packages. Avoid irritants for seven (7) days after treatment.

Does it hurt?

There is some discomfort. It feels like a rubber band snap. Our machines have cryogen spray devices that spray the skin milliseconds prior to the laser pulse which decreases the treatment discomfort.

IPL Photorejuvenation

What is IPL?

Intense Pulsed Light; is a broad spectrum light that evens out the skin color and treats vascular or pigmented skin imperfections.

What types of things can be treated?

Broken capillaries, sun damage, hyper/hypopigmentation and Rosacea.

Is any type of pre-treatment necessary?

Do not tan the area four weeks prior to treatment. Avoid using self tanning products for two weeks prior to your session. Use of a daily sun block is also advised.

Is there any post-treatment necessary?

Moisturizers and a good sun block are required daily while in treatment. Continue this for six (6) weeks after treatment.

Does it hurt?

There may be some discomfort. No anesthetic is necessary. Most patients rate it at a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10. Taking Tylenol or Ibuprofen prior to the treatment may be helpful.

How will I look and feel after the treatment?

There is NO downtime and you won't look much different immediately after the procedure. Over the next 24 hours, your skin may become slightly pink and a bit swollen, similar to sunburn, and the skin may also feel sensitive. These side effects are normal and expected, and will subside after about 48 hours. Hyperpigmented or sun damaged areas may look darker after treatment, but these areas will resolve after about a week.

Most patients are delighted with the outcome, even after just one treatment. Typically skin is younger and healthier looking.

What is Ionithermie?

Ionithermie is a complete detox and anti-cellulite treatment for the body.  Starting with your 1st treatment, in addition to the immediate inch-loss, you benefit from visibly reduced cellulite and improved muscle tone, while toxins and excess fluids are flushed from the tissues. Your figure is contoured and sculpted, and your skin is smoothed and conditioned.

It works anywhere you need inch-loss.  It firms, tones and diminishes the appearance of cellulite on the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, legs, waist, back, and arms.

How does it work?

The science behind Ionithermie is clinically-proven.  It is based on four (4) elements:  active ingredients such as guarana extracts and amino acids; heat therapy through a patented clay; algae which detoxifies, conditions, and remineralizes the body; and galvanic and faradic current stimulation, which works at the cellular level to remove unwanted toxins found in cellulite.

Are there any pre-treatment considerations?

It is advised that you avoid any alcohol or caffeine for 24 hours prior to your treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

For immediate inch-loss and detoxification, one to three (1-3) treatments are recommended.  For early-stage cellulite treatment and moderate detoxification, a series of five to eight (5-8) treatments is recommended.  For the treatment of advanced cellulite and aggressive detoxification, a series of ten (10) treatments is recommended.

Is there any post-treatment necessary?

It is advised that you avoid any alcohol or caffeine for 24-48 hours after a treatment.  To obtain the longest-lasting results, we recommend the incorporation of healthy lifestyle choices as well as the use of Ionithermie home-care products between your professional treatments.

Laser Vein Removal

Is it permanent?

Yes, it is permanent. It is always possible that individuals may form new vessels in different areas after laser vein removal. Many factors can increase this incidence such as heredity, standing or sitting for prolonged periods, or sedentary lifestyle. Maintenance sessions may be necessary in some cases.

Is there any pre-treatment?

It is advised that individuals do not take products such as aspirin, Ibuprophen, or blood thinners prior to treatment sessions. Avoid stringent products to treated areas such as Tretinoin (or Retin A) prior to a laser session. Do not tan the areas for 2 weeks prior to treatment. Avoid using self-tanning products for two (2) weeks prior to treatment. Application of topical numbing creams prior to treatment is contraindicated and is not advised.

How does it work?

It is injected into a muscle to temporarily paralyze the muscle to prevent movement and assist wrinkle reduction. It is the repeated movement of muscles that causes wrinkles so by preventing movement it helps reduce or soften wrinkles.

What post-treatment is necessary?

Avoid sun exposure in treated areas for two (2) weeks after a laser session. Use of sunscreen regularly for one (1) week before and for two to four (2-4) weeks after your treatment is advised. Avoid irritants for seven (7) days after treatment. Do not engage in strenuous exercise after a laser vein removal session.

Does it hurt?

There is some discomfort. It feels like a hot rubber band snapping on the skin. Our machines have cryogen spray devices that spray the skin milliseconds before and after the laser pulse, decreasing treatment discomfort.

What can I expect after a treatment?

Immediately after a session, treated vessels may have a "catscratch" appearance. This small welt will resolve within hours after your session. Some vessels may appear slightly larger and darker after a treatment and will gradually fade over 6-8 weeks. Do not scratch or rub any treated area(s). One may apply aloe or cold compresses if needed.
